NEW FEES AT RTD PARKING LOTS
Members, please note that RTD has begun to charge for parking at four Park-n-Ride lots. The new fees went into effect on Feb 2, 2009 at Airport Blvd. & 40th Ave., Stapleton, Thornton, and Wagon Road. More lots will be added to the list on March 2, April 1 and May 1. Electronic pay stations are located at each Park-n-Ride to receive the cash or credit card payments.
Vehicles with license plates registered to an address within the RTD District can park FREE of charge for up to 24 hours. Fees are $1.00 or $2.00 per day after the first 24 hours, depending on the Park-n-Ride.
Vehicles registered with license plates out-of-District have to pay $2.00 or $4.00 each 24-hour period, depending on the Park-n-Ride.
Those of us who live in the Denver Metro area and pay RTD taxes will not be affected when we meet to carpool to hikes on the weekend. However, it would be a good idea for everyone to check the RTD website for more details and whether your license plate is considered “in” or “out” of the District.
